Hey, you're being lied to about what fitness constitutes. If you can't work in an hour-long crossfit slog, but you can work in a five-minute walk, then that is still fitness. If you can't use your legs but you can do arm circles every now and again, that is still fitness. If you're moving around at work, that's still fitness. It can be intentional or incidental, but here's the best part: your body doesn't care if you're dedicating specific work-out times. It doesn't care if the "only" fitness it gets is your nine to five on your feet. It doesn't care, fitness is fitness is fitness. Some of us do it differently, but the end result is more or less similar.

If you can do any type of fitness safely, your body isn't going to care if you're doing it like an Olympic athlete or if you're just a casual.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (pretty sure I'm fairly close to the end)

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (I'm at the very beginning of this one, but I did start it to make sure that the game cartridge works)

Super Mario RPG (I'm having trouble getting into this one)

Super Mario 3D All-Stars (namely Super Mario Sunshine, because I've played Super Mario 64 DS and Super Mario Galaxy; the camera in this version of SM64 is proving to be a Problem, and I'm finding that I vastly prefer SMG on the Wii than the Switch (not that that will stop me from completely SMG on the Switch at some point)

Paper Mario: Sticker Star (I started this years ago when it first came out, got stuck somewhere, and gave up; I want to give this one another go)

Super Paper Mario (I played and beat this one years and years ago, but after playing TTYD, I want to revisit it)

man... rhoam's "redemption" in aoc really sucked, huh?

like botw SHOWED us, several times, how much pressure rhoam put on zelda to unlock her powers, despite her telling him, several times, that it wasn't working. he got angry and banned her from doing not only something she saw as useful, but something that she was clearly very interested in and passionate about because she "wasn't dedicating enough time to her prayers." yes, his diary expresses regret for it, but at the end of the day, if zelda saw that it wouldn't mean much to her. the actions rhoam took, and the way zelda grew up under so much pressure that she nearly died as a child in one of the springs (this is in urbosa's diary, iirc) mean so much more than his regrets and his intentions. it took him nearly 10 years to realize that he fucked up, and by that point it was too late. the calamity had returned, and rhoam had lost any chance he had at making things right with zelda.

meanwhile, in aoc, all that's there is some half-hearted scene in the temple of time that's supposed to make everything better? yes, aoc had a very different and arguably better outcome than the calamity that led to botw, but the damage was still done by rhoam. it's still the same hurts and abuse and trauma that he put his daughter through all because of the prophesized calamity.

for no fucking reason: real life dictatorships in the 20th and 21th centuries are almost always allowed to thrive because of some empire's interests. If not, they get heavily demonized then dismantled by said empire over a relatively short period of time (unless exceptional circumstances, tho it's almost always applicable). the examples are countless; please read declassified reports and interviews from the CIA/KGB/other intelligence agencies across the world to lose your mind about it, especially those involving what happened during the Cold War and what happened in the Middle East (and still does).

characters like ganondorf are the epitomy of the fantasy that colonized/"exotic" countries naturally spawn evil incarnate and must be controlled/stumped/imprisoned/destroyed by the "responsible ones" while the perfect good place is perfect and utterly blameless about what went down and how the local population suffered (which, in real life, the empires of the world are most definitively not that --the amount of dictators that were ushered into power by western interests is staggering and we fucking love to see it don't we). And also, a blameless victim to whichever retribution eventually comes back their way.

It is a rethoric that denies interconnectivity and historical responsibility.

this is what I criticize about the narrative choices of a fictional conflict that *does not exist in real life* and has been entirely made up by human beings: the cowardice of blamelessness, and what little this kind of narrative brings to the table --especially today when we should be looking at the root cause of broken systems of violence instead of endlessly scapegoating minorities.

and well, especially given how effective this narrative apparently seems to be.

Thinkin about Zelda again. I miss playing; I can't afford new consoles and got kind of burnt out on the games I had, tho. Also I haven't touched the Wii since like, 2015?? Since my room was rearranged, and has since been rearranged a couple more times, albeit slightly. I don't know if the sensor bar works anymore, bc in one of the rearrangements, it was very easy for Lilith to knock the thing off of my TV with her tail by accident (different TV stand + not quite a flat surface + the natural degradation of the adhesive pads on the bar itself). Also I'm a little worried about my remote's chargeable batteries, bc one of them showed signs of corrosion that I never really did anything about? Like, on the little metal bits on the back. I think it's a little bit on the charging cradle, too. I need to get rid of that battery, probably, if I haven't already (and I can't imagine that I have)... I swapped it out with the other battery that came with the cradle, bc I only had the one remote (got the console at the end of its livespan and essentially only have two games for it). Also I stopped using the grippy sleeve that was bought for me bc for one, it made charging the battery impossible while it was on and was a pain in the ass to keep removing; and for two, iirc it was one of the things that Lilith was obsessed with trying to chew on. That last bit isn't really a problem anymore, though.....
